The Macon Water Authority makes it easy to pay your utility bill by offering several convenient options.
We accept several payment types, including:
- Autopay
- Cash
- Check
- Money Order
- Cashier’s Check
- Debit/Credit (Discover, MasterCard, and Visa)
A $2.75 convenience fee is applicable when paying by credit card for residential accounts. A 2.75% convenience fee is applicable for non-residential accounts.
Check out these helpful tips to ensure your payment is processed smoothly:
- Do not mail cash directly to the MWA for payment of your bill.
- Make your check or money order payable to the “Macon Water Authority” or the “MWA.”
- Do not staple or tape your check or money order to the payment stub.
- Write your six-digit MWA account number on your check or money order.
- Sign your name on the check or money order.
- Use the envelope provided by MWA to remit your payment.
Six Ways to Pay Your MWA Bill
Quick Pay
The MWA has partnered with Kroger, Walmart, and local check cashing retailers to offer this quick and easy payment option. Currently, there are 18 Quick Pay Authorized Payment Locations (APLs) located in Macon-Bibb, Houston, and Monroe Counties.
Any of these locations can accept payments on an MWA customer account. However, these locations are not set up to conduct other MWA customer service transactions, such as establishing, discontinuing, or transferring water or sewer service, or taking reports of service outages.
To make a payment using the MWA Quick Pay Option, MWA customers must have:
- Your MWA account number
- The zip code of the MWA office (31202-0108)
- Service fees vary per retailer, please contact the retailer for their service fee.

The Macon Water Authority offers walk-up and drive-thru service at the MWA Albert Billingslea Administration Building. The MWA Headquarters physical/street address is:

A night drop box also is available during non-business hours. A drop box is located in the customer parking lot for drive-up or walk up access. Customers can also access a drop box in the first drive-in lane.
Customer Service Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Autopay
Autopay is a convenient option for MWA customers to pay their bills each month. The process of setting up autopay is simple and allows you to have your bill amount automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account on the due date.
To enroll in autopay, visit our Customer Self-Serve Portal and log into your account. Then select a default payment method and select the autopay option.

Be sure to make your check or money order payable to the “Macon Water Authority” or the “MWA.” Do not staple or tape your check or money order to the payment stub. Do not mail cash.

You can pay your MWA bill by phone at any time. There’s no need to speak with a Customer Service Representative.
