Our Annual Community Outreach Events
Kid’s Fishing Derby
Javors Lucas Lake is more than just our reservoir for drinking water; it’s an excellent place to go fishing! The first Saturday in March marks our annual MWA Kids Fishing Derby. Several hundred kids have joined us over the years to fish the reservoir for free and compete for prizes at this signature event whose origin dates back to 2006.
Ocmulgee Alive!
The MWA hosts an annual cleanup of the Ocmulgee River and partners with Georgia Rivers Alive. Our team is committed to protecting our resources, and we’re proud to partner with community volunteers and sponsors to host this cleanup event.
National Drinking Water Week
The first week of May is National Drinking Water Week. During this week, the MWA raises community awareness of the vital role water plays in our daily lives.
Serving the Community with the Macon Water Alliance, Inc.
The Macon Water Alliance is a non-profit subsidiary of the Macon Water Authority that works to support community education, protect our environment, and help customers needing residential water-related plumbing repairs.
