The Macon Water Authority (MWA) compensation philosophy states that the starting salary for each pay grade will be competitive and fair based on the minimum requirements of each position. For candidates with a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience above the minimum requirements, MWA has the ability to offer a starting salary between the minimum and mid-point, with a possibility of a salary closer to the mid-point.
Job Summary:
Plan, prioritize, assign, direct, and review the work of the Facilities and Fleet Maintenance employees. Responsible for coordinating, planning, and scheduling work for Facilities and Fleet Maintenance employees while working with multiple departments. Maintain work orders, Pre-requisitions (PRs), Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) work orders, and all other work assigned to the Facilities and Fleet Maintenance departments. Coordinate with vendors to ensure that repairs and maintenance are completed in a timely manner. Assist the department in meeting all goals and objectives. This role also requires acting as a liaison between Facilities and Fleet Maintenance management and vendors to oversee coordination.
Responsibilities:
▪Gathering of information and data necessary to support planning and scheduling activities.
▪Visit the job site(s) for Facilities and Fleet work orders as necessary.
▪Confirm the scope of work and develop an estimate for material/parts required labor and formulate a job plan.
▪Develop a sequence of work and enhance the sequence as work is done.
▪Coordination of information and data gathering necessary to support planning, scheduling, and reliability activities.
▪Computer data entry of the transactions to convert the request to a work order.
▪Determines parts & material requirements.
▪Provides a cost estimate to include labor, materials & contract services.
▪Initiates pick lists for Storeroom parts and materials.
▪Assist with scheduling regular maintenance such as equipment inspections, external building maintenance, cleaning and sanitation, and lawn care.
▪Developing and maintaining schedules for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
▪Coordinating vehicle reservations, usage, and maintenance requests.
▪Monitoring and tracking vehicle inventory to ensure adequate supply levels.
▪Managing and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
▪Identification and elimination of sources of delay for the technicians.
▪Utilize computerized current and new software as the department develops.
▪Ensuring accuracy, updating, and monitoring of work orders.
▪Adjust labor hours based on actual work.
▪Analyze feedback reports for improvements and or additional work requirements.
▪Update the Asset Registry as the equipment is replaced, removed, or rehabilitated.
▪Uses purchasing software to input purchase requisitions for parts, materials, and contract services.
▪Prepare reports related to Facilities and Fleet Maintenance operations and present them to management.
▪Participate in the Capital Improvement Plan and perform jobs dictated on the plan yearly.
▪Acts as Assistant Facilities and Fleet Maintenance Manager in their absence.
▪Updates equipment history files with information that will improve the planning for future events.
▪Coordinates and exchanges standard planning information with other Planners.
▪Maintains records of materials and equipment issued.
▪Receives and stocks incoming equipment and materials.
▪Takes inventory counts of all materials on hand that may include weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual spot checks and counts, depending on the needs of the business.
▪Keeps the warehouse(s)/storeroom(s) clean and orderly.
▪Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
▪High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
▪Experience in fleet coordination, logistics, or a related field preferred.
▪Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
▪Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
▪Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software, are preferred.
▪Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, roofing, and landscaping preferred.
▪1 to 3 years of Supervisory skills.
▪Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
▪Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
▪Frequent walking, standing, stooping, occasionally sitting, crawling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.
▪Ability to carry 25 pounds up to 50 pounds.
▪Use of hands for simple grasping, writing, drawing, and operating office equipment.
Environmental Working Conditions:
▪The position requires some exposure to working outside, insect bites/stings, poisonous plants, and possibly reptiles.
▪Frequent exposure to dry conditions, high and low humidity, wetness, and inclement weather.
▪Exposure to dust, outside work, sunburn, and moving objects (such as heavy equipment or road traffic).
▪Occasional exposure to working over water, working at heights, and in confined spaces.
▪Exposure to chemicals includes, but is not limited to: Gasoline, Diesel Fuel, Motor Oil, Hydraulic Oil, Natural Gas, Exhaust fumes, Insecticides, Chlorine.
