Compensation Philosophy:
The Macon Water Authority (MWA) compensation philosophy states that the starting salary for each pay grade will be competitive and fair based on the minimum requirements of each position. For candidates with a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience above the minimum requirements, MWA has the ability to offer a starting salary between the minimum and mid-point, with a possibility of a salary closer to the mid-point.
Job Summary:
Responsible for improving the productivity of an organization’s employees. Responsible for the effective development, coordination, and presentation of training and development programs for all employees. Assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives. Identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees. Actively search, creatively design, and implement effective methods to educate, enhance performance, and recognize performance.
Responsibilities:
Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results
Modify programs as needed; develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
Develop trainer development programs and coach others involved in training efforts, providing effective
growth and development opportunities.
Develop and maintain proper communications such as bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees know
of property events and general information.
Establish a centralized, in-house training curriculum for the State of Georgia that required licensures to
include continual opportunities for Operators to obtain the annual required CEUs.
Assist the Director with developing and monitoring spending against the departmental training budget.
Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the Human resources staff.
Partners with the Risk Management Coordinator on all training initiatives as well as serve as the backup for
this role.
Remains current on developments in training and instructional methodologies including technology enhancements
and attends periodic seminars, forums, and meetings to ensure currency of education.
Performs other duties as assigned including basic HR functions.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in education, business administration, or liberal arts or at least three years of
training equivalent.
At least two years of experience in a public administration setting, preferably in human resources or
administration.
Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.
Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking, and presentation skills.
Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.
Must have tertiary qualifications in human resources, training, and development or business studies.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required.
A valid Georgia Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
• Frequent walking, standing, stooping.
• Ability to carry 25 pounds up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
• Occasionally sitting, crawling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.
• Ability to grasp and hold.
