Macon Water Authority’s Stormwater Department Holds 4th Annual Donation Drive for Daybreak
Company News
The Macon Water Authority’s (MWA) Stormwater Department recently demonstrated its commitment to community support by organizing its 4th Annual Donation Drive for Daybreak, a local resource center for individuals experiencing homelessness. Located at 174 Walnut Street in Macon, Daybreak provides essential services to nearly 100 homeless men and women every weekday, helping them overcome the immediate challenges of homelessness.
This annual tradition began in 2021 and has become a team effort that embodies the spirit of giving during the holiday season. The Stormwater Department made the event fun and engaging by dividing into three teams to see which group could collect the most needed items. This year, contributions went above and beyond, with the Facilities and Fleet Department joining the initiative, resulting in nearly two dozen boxes filled with essential items such as toiletries, cleaning supplies, nonperishable food, bottled water, and more.
These donations will directly benefit Daybreak, which offers services such as showers, laundry facilities, medical and dental care, employment support, and more to individuals in need. By contributing these much-needed supplies, the MWA team has played a role in supporting Daybreak’s mission of helping the vulnerable members of our community transition to stability and self-sufficiency.
