The Macon Water Authority (MWA) Stormwater Utility Division hosted a Town Hall Meeting in East Macon at Mount Moriah Baptist Church on Thursday Sept. 29, 2022, to update citizens of stormwater activities and services to improve their community.
The MWA Stormwater Utility will be updating the public on stormwater capital projects that have been completed in the East Macon, as well as what projects are being planned and the positive impact these projects – and the ongoing maintenance work the Authority is doing in this area – will have on residents in these neighborhoods.
This Town Hall Meeting comes on the heels of tours MWA staff took of East Macon recently, thanks to its partnership with Keep Macon-Bibb County Beautiful. As a result of this partnerships, KMMB officials shared reports from concerned citizens and neighborhood groups of Stormwater concerns in East Macon. Thanks to those tours and scheduled maintenance of Stormwater infrastructure in the area by MWA Stormwater crews, the Authority went to work immediately to solve several Stormwater issues to prevent future instances of flooding in East Macon neighborhoods.
