MWA Recognized at the 2025 GAWP Fall Conference

The Macon Water Authority was well-represented at the 2025 Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) Fall Conference, held on November 4th in Athens, Georgia. MWA employees and departments earned several distinguished honors, highlighting the Authority’s continued commitment to excellence in water distribution and collection system operations.
MWA received three major awards at this year’s event:
- Water Distribution System Excellence Award
- Collection System Excellence Award
- Golden Manhole Award, presented to Bryan Jones
Each recognition underscores the dedication, technical skill, and teamwork of our employees who ensure our systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently for the Macon-Bibb community.
A special congratulations goes to Bryan Jones, whose induction into the Golden Manhole Society represents
one of the highest professional honors in the wastewater collection field. This award acknowledges individuals who demonstrate exceptional professionalism, expertise, and leadership in their discipline.
The awards were accepted on behalf of MWA by Willie Sidney, Director of Water Distribution, and Jamie Coverson, Water Distribution Supervisor.
Congratulations to all involved, and thank you for representing the Macon Water Authority with excellence at this year’s conference.
