💸 Financial Protection

Life Insurance
Employer-paid coverage: 1.5× salary (up to $200,000) for employees. Voluntary life insurance is available for employees, spouses, and children.

Disability Insurance

Short-Term: 100% employer-paid, covering 60% of weekly earnings (up to $1,500/week) starting on day 15 of illness/injury, for up to 11 weeks.

Long-Term: Optional coverage at low group rates, paying up to 60% of monthly earnings after a 90-day waiting period.

Critical Illness Insurance
Optional coverage pays a lump sum upon diagnosis of a covered condition such as heart attack, stroke, or cancer.

Macon Water Authority Retirement Savings Plan (RSP)
Employees hired after 2013 choose to contribute 3% or 6.2% of their salary, matched dollar-for-dollar by MWA. Funds vest after five years.

Additional Retirement Options
An optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan that allows both pre-tax and ROTH contributions to supplement retirement savings.
