The Macon Water Authority (MWA) Stormwater Management Division employees collected over 750 items, weighing over 200 pounds, for the annual Christmas charity contribution drive for the Daybreak (Homeless) Day Resource Center in Macon, and they were very appreciative of the kindness extended to homeless citizens this holiday season.
Depaul USA manages Daybreak Day Resource Center to provide support services and a warm, welcome refuge to those affected by homelessness in Macon, Georgia.
Every weekday in Macon, an average of 100 homeless men and women visit Depaul USA Daybreak to receive services to help them overcome the immediate crisis of homelessness. These services include:
- Housing and housing placement
- Case Management
- Breakfast and snacks
- Showers
- Free health clinic
- Access to phones and computers
- Transportation assistance
- Identification and documentation

Two houses on Woodliff Street in Macon are part of Depaul USA’s affordable housing portfolio. These residences contain a total of three living spaces, where residents pay 30% of their adjusted monthly income for rent.
In addition, Wear has been providing “thrift with a twist” in downtown Macon since 2015. Wear is a social enterprise of Depaul USA, where shoppers can have fun finding a bargain, while supporting transformational services at Daybreak Day Resource Center.
