Macon Water Authority is pleased to announce the promotion of LeGena Bolton to Human Resources Director, effective January 13, 2026. The announcement was shared with employees by President Ron Shipman, recognizing Ms. Bolton’s tenure, experience, and readiness to lead the department.
Ms. Bolton’s journey with Macon Water Authority began more than two decades ago. She first joined the organization in late 2001 as a temporary Switchboard Operator in the Customer Service Department and was hired permanently on February 20, 2002, as a Receptionist. Through dedication, hard work, and a commitment to excellence, she has grown within the organization and now leads the Human Resources Department.
“I am truly honored to serve as Human Resources Director for Macon Water Authority,” said Bolton. “Having started as a temporary employee and growing within the organization has been a rewarding and humbling journey. I remain committed to supporting our employees and helping Macon Water Authority grow and thrive while serving our employees with excellence.”
As Human Resources Director, Ms. Bolton is leading several important initiatives that will benefit employees across the organization. These include the implementation of Paycom, MWA’s new Human Resources Information System (HRIS), which will streamline payroll, benefits administration, timekeeping, and recruiting processes. The department is also enhancing the performance management program, expanding employee engagement efforts, and continuing to strengthen employee training and development opportunities.
Ms. Bolton’s career reflects the opportunities available at Macon Water Authority for professional growth and advancement. Her progression from temporary employee to department director highlights her dedication to the organization and its people.
