MACON, GA – The Macon Water Authority (MWA) is proud to announce that the Amerson Water Treatment Plant has received a Certificate of Achievement from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) in recognition of its excellence in water treatment operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
With an outstanding score of 98.67%, the Amerson Water Treatment Plant ranks among the best-operated water plants in Georgia in the Surface Water 75 to 99.99 MGD category. This recognition highlights the plant’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality drinking water to the residents of Macon-Bibb County.

The recognition from GAWP is the result of extensive effort, teamwork from several MWA departments, and dedication from the Amerson Water Treatment Plant staff.
