The 2024 Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) Annual Conference & Expo commenced on Sunday, July 14th, drawing hundreds of water professionals across the state to Savannah, Georgia. The event, a cornerstone for the industry, brings water professionals, industry experts, and vendors together to explore the latest trends, technologies, challenges, and solutions in water management and conservation.
Among the notable presenters were Macon Water Authority’s very own Kate Kubesheski, Director of Wastewater Operations, and Frank Evans, Director of Maintenance. They delivered an insightful presentation on the conversion of the Lower Poplar Water Reclamation Facilities Influent Pump Station. Their discussion highlighted key milestones, including the minor expansion in 1968, a major expansion in 1983, and significant upgrades completed in 2017.
