Amerson Water Treatment Plant Earns Seventh Consecutive Platinum Award

The Macon Water Authority is proud to announce that the Frank C. Amerson, Jr. Water Treatment Plant has received the Platinum Award from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) for the seventh consecutive year. This prestigious honor recognizes a facility’s commitment to excellence by maintaining 100% compliance with all state and federal drinking water regulations for five or more consecutive years.

With this year’s achievement, the Amerson Plant continues to set the standard for water treatment performance across Georgia.

“This award speaks volumes about the hard work and dedication of our Water Treatment Plant staff,” said MWA President & Executive Director Ron Shipman. “We are committed to delivering safe, clean drinking water every day, and our team at Amerson delivers that promise with excellence year after year.”

The award was presented during the 2025 GAWP Spring Conference & Expo held in Columbus, Georgia.

We extend our congratulations to the entire Amerson Plant team for their ongoing commitment to protecting public health and upholding the highest standards in water treatment.
