Amerson Water Treatment Plant Wins Best Tasting Tap Water in District 5

The Macon Water Authority is proud to announce that the Amerson Water Treatment Plant has been awarded Best Tasting Tap Water in District 5 by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP).

Each year, GAWP hosts a regional water taste test competition where utilities across Georgia submit samples judged on clarity, aroma, and flavor. The Amerson team’s sample rose to the top, earning high praise and first-place honors among participating systems in District 5.

This award reflects the skill, dedication, and attention to detail that the Amerson team brings to their work every day. Their efforts ensure that MWA customers receive not only safe and clean drinking water, but water that tastes great too.

This recognition adds to a growing list of achievements for MWA in 2025, as our teams continue to demonstrate excellence in water quality and service delivery.
