Compensation Philosophy:
The Macon Water Authority (MWA) compensation philosophy states that the starting salary for each pay grade will be competitive and fair based on the minimum requirements of each position. For candidates with a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience above the minimum requirements, MWA has the ability to offer a starting salary between the minimum and mid-point, with a possibility of a salary closer to the mid-point.
Job Summary:
To perform essential maintenance and repair work to all facilities, grounds, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Performs various janitorial duties; including waxing and buffing of floors
- Performs basic labor duties
- Mows plant grounds, trimming around walkways and buildings
- Operates tractors, lawnmowers, and some power hand tools
- Cleans and paints equipment
- Performs related work as required
Qualification Requirements:
- A High School diploma or GED preferred
- Knowledge of the operation of tractors and mowers preferred.
- Ability to use various hand and power tools preferred.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping
- Ability to carry 50 pounds or more.
- Occasionally sitting, crawling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.
- May occasionally require climbing and may involve traveling over various terrain.
- Ability to grasp and hold.
