Macon Water Alliance Provides Funding to Assist Customers with Water Bills
Company News
The Macon Water Authority is proud to support efforts that assist customers in need through its nonprofit partner, the Macon Water Alliance.
During the April 2, 2026, Board Meeting, the Macon Water Alliance presented funding to two local
organizations that play a critical role in assisting residents with utility expenses. The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) received $7,000, and the Macon-Bibb Economic Opportunity Council (EOC) received $20,000. These funds will be used to assist eligible customers with their water bills.
The Macon Water Alliance, the charitable arm of the Macon Water Authority, works to support the community by funding programs that address essential needs such as access to safe, reliable water. Rather than providing direct financial assistance, the Alliance partners with trusted local
organizations like DFCS and EOC, which have established systems in place to verify eligibility and distribute aid efficiently.
DFCS assists by evaluating applicants and determining eligibility for support, while the EOC provides direct assistance to households facing financial hardship. Together, these organizations ensure that funds are distributed to those who need it most.
This collaborative approach allows the Macon Water Authority and the Macon Water Alliance to extend their impact beyond water service, assisting to strengthen the community and provide relief to families during times of need.
Customers who may need assistance with their water bill are encouraged to contact DFCS or the Macon-Bibb EOC to learn more about available programs and eligibility requirements.
