Macon Water Authority Board Approves Major Sewer Infrastructure Project Along Allen Road

The Macon Water Authority Board has approved the Allen Road 30-inch Sanitary Sewer Extension Project, a major infrastructure investment designed to expand wastewater capacity and support future growth in the Allen Road corridor.
The project includes the installation of approximately 5,090 linear feet of 30-inch sanitary sewer, 1,860 linear feet of 24-inch sanitary sewer and 3,260 linear feet of 12-inch sanitary sewer. Construction will utilize both open-trench and jack-and-bore installation methods.
The project extends the original sewer line along Allen Road and includes an additional extension south to Barnes Ferry Road.
Following a competitive bidding process, nine bids were received for the project. The Board awarded the construction contract to RDJE, Inc. in the amount of $4,442,561, with the bid coming in under the project’s estimated budget.
This investment reflects the Macon Water Authority’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and expanding critical wastewater infrastructure to meet the needs of a growing community while providing reliable service for customers.
Construction is expected to begin later this year. Additional information, including construction schedules and any potential traffic impacts, will be shared as it becomes available.
