Macon Water Authority Recognized for Website Transparency and Accessibility
Company News
The Macon Water Authority (MWA) has been recognized for its commitment to transparency and public accessibility in a recent independent review conducted by students in Mercer University’s Civic & Community Journalism program.
The review evaluated local agency websites to assess how effectively they provide public information, communicate with residents, and comply with Georgia’s open records and open government standards. MWA’s website was noted for offering a wide range of accessible resources, including meeting agendas and minutes, board information, and a user-friendly portal for submitting open records requests.
In addition, the Authority provides multiple ways for the public to stay informed, including social media updates, board meeting videos, and online access to important documents and reports. These tools help ensure customers and stakeholders have timely access to information about their water system and services.
MWA continues to prioritize transparency, customer communication, and ease of access across its digital platforms as part of its commitment to serving the Macon-Bibb County community.
